FILTER vs. KYC identity suites
You don't need a bank's KYC stack to check a phone number.
Signzy, IDfy, HyperVerge, Karza and similar identity suites offer deep BFSI-grade verification — PAN, Aadhaar, video KYC, liveness checks — sold sales-led, at enterprise pricing, built for lenders and regulated onboarding. FILTER solves a narrower, cheaper problem: is this phone number itself real, active, and reachable. Many teams run FILTER first as a fast, cheap gate, and reserve the expensive full KYC suite for the numbers that pass it.
| FILTER | KYC identity suites | |
|---|---|---|
| Depth of identity verification | Phone number only | Full identity stack — PAN, Aadhaar, video KYC, liveness |
| Onboarding | Self-serve, live in minutes | Sales-led, typically weeks to fully onboard |
| Pricing | Pay per lookup, no minimum commitment | Enterprise contracts, often with minimum volume commitments |
| Legally required for regulated lending/onboarding | No — FILTER doesn't replace statutory KYC | Yes — this is what the suite exists to satisfy |
If you're a regulated lender, statutory KYC isn't optional and a phone check doesn't substitute for it — that's genuinely the suites' job, not ours. What FILTER is good for is the step before that: filtering out numbers that are dead or fake before you spend a full, expensive KYC check on them.
